A Tribute

Sent from above from the Father of lights,
To live and teach two boys the meaning of life.

Committed and true, creative and wise,
Modeling faithfulness, with no room for guise.

Quiet and brave, always steadfast and sure,
His faith remained confident, hopeful and pure.

Selflessly caring for those with great need,
Used of the Lord to perform countless good deeds.

The lessons are over, but not in that sense,
Yes, over, but they live on in his sons' present tense.

The future holds promise because he lives on,
In the lessons and life he has given to his sons.

Author's Note:
This was written as a tribute to my daughter's fiance's father who passed away on Friday. He was an inventor and helped patent supplies for AIDS patients.

About the Poet
I've been a Christian for over 40 years and am continually thankful for Jesus' friendship and care. I'm married and have three grown children. I also have two grandsons and three granddaughters. Praise God! My prayer is that God would use these simple poems to encourage you in your walk with the Lord.
