May This Poor Heart Gleam in You

May this poor heart gleam in You…

Oh Lord, how I wait for Your presence;

Each morning to you my prayers ascend,

By Your love my heart You purify,

With joy then I serve You day by day.

May this poor heart gleam brighter…

Since I’m the heir of salvation,

Has the darkness no dominion o’er me,

Through His blood heaven is opened.

Peace I attain as to Him I get closer,

How the Almighty mine heart touches!

Walking with Jesus is my delight;

When burnt my spirit to glorify Him,

Into the depth of His love I enter.

Daily His lovely countenance I seek.
