A Kingdom of Priests
a conversation with God
with chain rhyme

Father, all glory to Your Son,

I treasure His suff’ring for sin.

Child, foreknowing all things you’ve done

I see repentance deep within.

Thank you for Christ, our great high priest,

…for pray’rs two thousand years ago.

…for mom as my Christian model.

…for grace made known thru godly saints.

                                    …for promise of a home in heav’n.

I’ve chosen you, lantern of peace,

…to carry my light where you go.

…to treat your body as my temple.

…to heed my commands and constraints.

…to sit at my feet all-forgiv’n.

Saints pled my case before your throne,

            teaching me of your righteousness,

they showed me your love and my pride.

I trust you as my faithful one,

knowing full well your weaknesses,

I’ve sent you a Helper and Guide.

Priests they were and priest I’ve become.

Thank you, Father God, for your Light.

Priest you are and priests you’ll lead home.

You are chosen for my delight.

About the Poet
Growing older with some pains and discomfort, graying hair, glasses, partial plate and hearing aids but with complete assurance of my eternal domain. Saved by choice by Gods free grace by Jesus life, death and resurrection. Born and bred in the Bluegrass State for 24 years, I crossed the Ohio River and became a Hoosier forever thereafter until that time God calls me to my heavenly home. Christian for fifty-five plus years. Church musician and SS teacher for most all of my Wednesdays and Sundays. Public school teacher for thirty-six school terms; retired with a class now of three grandchildren off and on during the week. Wife for half my life to the same superman. Mama to two unique sons. Mother-in-law to a fine daughter; Nana to one darling girl and two handsome guys. God has blessed me abundantly; thank you, Father. God quiets my hackles; God quickens my heart; God quells my hunger. Blessed be His holy name.
