Great Anticipation

GREAT ANTICIPATION

It's with great anticipation
God expects my visitation
Not one moment doth go by
Without His care

He is watching with great eagerness
In my times of sure distress
Why don't I come to Him
In daily prayer

He who never sleeps nor slumbers ,
Counts our hairs , He knows their numbers
Sees the sparrow fall
And widow's mite

Has His angels in attendance
While His Word and Spirit defend us
Won't you cast all your cares
On Him tonight

Rest in peace, brother, sister,
Praise the Lord there is none other
None other name under heaven
Given among men

That our lowly Saviour Jesus,
Died and lives that He may please us
And He's promised to be with us
Till the end

Bountiful blessings be our portion
When we trust Him and adore Him
He delights to hear the sound
Of fervent prayer

In the morning in the evening
With our praises as an offering
God is by His Presence
Meeting with us there

Oh the Glory Hallelujah's
Will be second nature to us
When we leave His presence
Fitted for the task

With a heart aglow with His love
As a measurement of our love
Let us meet each day afresh,
What more to ask!

With the dawning of a new year
With the passion of our Lord near
Let us seek some souls with which
To share His Word

Tell that blessed gospel story
Till we’re raptured up to Glory
The greatest, greatest story
Ever heard.

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
