I Love Believer's Funerals

I Love Believer's Funerals

I love believer's funerals
Where grief is mixed with gaiety
For we grieve not as others grieve
For we have a blessed hope you see
For our glad Resurrection promise
Because of the Lord Jesus Christ
There is a wonderful coming day
When praise God we too shall arise!

It's not a we'll never meet again
But praise God on down the line
There'll be a glad reunion day
Where everything will be just fine
As before our Saviour we're rejoicing
The Lamb who for sinner's was slain
The proof proclaimed by those in attendance
Who've trusted in Jesus blest name

Hallelujah... O blest Hallelujah's
Salvation in Jesus blest name
The uptodate hope that's still offered for sinners
For to whomsoever will come it's the same
A redemption that was sealed at Calvary
Through the shedding of Jesus's precious blood
Only one name that's given under Heaven
To secure your relationship with God

Come ye weary and heavy hearted
Bring your baggage of sin to the Cross
Lay everything down at Jesus feet
For He paid for sins final cost
And a glory Hallelujah
Will emit from a repentant heart
The Holy Spirit will seal to your spirit
That you've done the most important part

And the fear of old death takes an exit
Our eternal hope finalized
Living with that wonderful expectancy
One day we too shall arise
Forgiven now on to forgiving
With a love hitherto not known
I live amazed at the presence of God
For I now know Christ as my own!

And on my earth departure day
When my face is gazed upon as such
Remember I'm absent from my body
For I've known the Master's touch
And we'll be meeting on the other side
In the land that is fairer than day
As living witnesses to the aliveness of Christ
What a glad and a glorious day!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
