THIS WORLD HAS LOST

This world has lost it's hold on me

I feel it's  grip is gone

Since I've been looking to Jesus Christ

The battle now is won

No longer lured by things of past

The future looks so bright

I've had my walk with darkness

Now I'm walking in the Light

Heavens left an impression

On this heart of mine

Stamped with approval by His Spirit

I'm having a blessed time

Just seeking to please my Master

I look alone to Him

Looking over the harvest fields

Seeking souls to win

I have no hidden agenda

But open unto all men

They must repent of their sin

They must be born again

The torment of hell is awaiting

Each soul not safe in the Son

What more motivation do we need

Then to be telling everyone

Awaken then to your calling

You have a commission too

Tell your friends tell your neighbors

Even your enemies too

Don't waste anothet calendar day

Mark it well my brothers

We're not here to live for self

We're here to live for others!

What would Jesus do if He were here today

Would He let the world go by as we do each day

No I really don't think so as He's proven in the past

There's enough sinners to go around

we'll never finish the task

With God's love as our anchor...we're held fast by Him

Let's venture forth in faith believing

God will save from sin!

Prepare your heart then brother

Give it room for prayer

Take what quiet time you need

To meet with your God there

You'll leave a different person

From that hallowed place

Then live your life with sacrifice

With God's amazing grace!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
