It's All about God

IT'S ALL ABOUT GOD

It's all about God hallelujah

It has nothing to do with me

My part, is acknowledging my sinfulness

His, is to set me free

Repentance and faith in Lord Jesus

My gain because of His loss

Sufficient His grace for me daily

And it's all because of the cross

What cross! That blessed cross of Jesus

Poured out for me, His precious blood that day

That I could know,  a life that's  everlasting

Through Jesus Christ,  the Life, the Truth, the Way

Sin's stranglehold had left me lost in darkness

I had no Light I didn't know the Way

Then Truth revealed, Himself to me as a Person

Now my delight is trusting Him each day

No barrier now between my God and I

Sin's wall of partition dismantled by His love

He drew me in, unaware of how He'd bless me

I am amazed , He watches from above

Is your heart now, looking for some answers

Why you're  here, and what your purpose is

Then my friend call upon the Saviour

In Him you'll find genuine love and bliss

What blessed cross, heaven's highest honour

Bestowed on Christ, who took sin's penalty

And brought redemption , to us fallen sinner's

Who trusted iHim, praise God, now we are free

I love Thee Lord, each day my soul is hungry

To feed on Thee, the true and living way

My bread my water, my life that's everlasting

You're all I need, You satisfy each day

Place on my heart continued contemplation

Soul's are dying, we've a job to do

Can we leave off, the story of salvation

That gave "us" life, and is offered for them too

My song of joy, be it all of Jesus

Who makes the heart, sing joyous songs of praise

Sweet the melody, of soul's who've met the Saviour

"Forgiver" of sin's and "Victor" over the grave!

Oh hallelujah,  there is balm in Gilead

To heal each soul that's been hurt by sin

The "great Physician" bestows upon each sinner

Sufficient grace when they trust in Him

Oh Calvary's cross, may we find it's treasure

Pardon secured, "paid in full" decreed

By that precious blood of Jesus

In Him we have, everything we need!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
