Saving Faith Is Felt

Saving Faith Is Felt

Saving faith is felt
And expressed most joyously
Only those who know forgiveness for sin
Can attest to faith's reality
Where love engineers in real time
Our spirit bearing witness as well
God's Holy Spirit revealed to our hearts
We're delivered for ever from Hell

Where Hallelujah what a Saviour
Is birthed as an absolute song
For we who know that we are redeemed
Can sing praises all the day long
The Word has life we know its power
We've labeled it Resurrection
The Word became flesh and dwelt amongst us
Our God as the man of Perfection

Not one sin ever recorded
In paperwork regarding the Son
He who knew no sin became sin for us
In the person of the Cruccified One
And somehow in miraculous fashion
Only God knowing how it is done
When we apply His Word and its truth to our hearts
Saving faith as a healing is begun

I know the day of my faith's transaction
The day of my repentance from sin
That glorious day when faith took effect
And sealed my devotion to Him
When sin had lost its drawing power
And its darkness was revealed as such
I can honestly say without a shadow of doubt
My soul felt the Master's touch

The bonds were broken that held me fast
I tasted of faith's liberty
Knowing that I was no longer the same
For Christ now liveth in me
And Hallelujah's rolled off of this tongue
For Salvation gives a song
They who've trusted in Christ's death for their sin
Have cause to sing all the day long!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
