I've Felt The Warmth

I've Felt The Warmth

Lord I've felt the warmth of Your love
It has surrounded my heart with grace
That grand day of my soul's deliverance
Knowing that the Saviour took my place
It took me quite awhile
Before that truth sunk in
That I was a sinner...lost and undone
And that I needed Your rescuing

Your Word has anchored my soul
Since the day that I first believed
But it wasn't until I read it over and over
That that truth I really received
To be able to stake my life on Your Word
Became my steadfast
acceptance
Hallelujah! Praise God!. .I shall never perish
Because of my repentance

There's a change that happens on the inside
When you realize you've fallen in love
And Lord You drew me unto Yourself
In Your person as the living Word
What magnetism of Your love
As I read of Your dealings with men
You lived Your life as an open book
As You ministered and walked amongst them

I've grown a tad since I met You Lord
I now have a desire to pray
It's now on a more habitual basis
As I pray and praise You each day
And I try not to let sin pile up
But take it one sin at a time
The moment the Spirit convicts me of sin
I deal with it at that time

Now fellowship with You is my chief desire
For I want to be used everyday
As a testimony to Your saving grace
Leading some others to know Your way
Living life on this higher plain of living
Praise God...I'm in the Heavenlies
Trying to walk in the steps of the Saviour
For it's You Lord that I wish to please!!!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
