The Bible Raised

The Bible Raised

You probably have a Bible somewhere
Though it's seldom or never read
The devil will keep you from it friend
He'll say.... "do this thing instead"
But put that thought afar off
And get into the Word
A wealth of information there
That you probably haven't heard

Don't worry about religion
For this is none of that
It's about a wonderful relationship with God
And that is where it's at
How God Himself in human flesh
Came down to be the Son
Gave up His life for our sin
Each and every one

His shed blood sufficient
As payment for our sin
You can read about it in the Word
It's the best place to begin
Start first with the gospels
Mark... Matthew... Luke and John
Then onward to the book of Acts
You'll be surprised at what went on

How Jesus walked upon His earth
He knew every blade of grass
All the sand in the sea
Their beginnings and their last
The height of every mountain
To the umpteenth degree
Without even having a computer
Divinest Deity

And yes even more wonderful
Than all of that no less
As hard as it may be to believe
God came in human flesh
He partook of His creation
So that He could redeem
And show the world a love as such
As ever could be seen

And lifted up upon the Cross
That Cross of Calvary
God was reconciling by Christ
Sinners!... Like you and me
There the Word Himself raised
Then carried to the grave
Hallelujah death... NO MORE!
May Jesus Christ be praised!

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
