Behold The Man...Behold The Lamb

Behold The Man...Behold The Lamb

A sacrifice of perfection
Walked on His earth one day
To live amongst the men He created
And to let them have their way
He came unto His own
And His own received Him not
Still this did not dissuade Him from
To care for us a lot

He knew our sin would do us in
For the weak creatures that we were
So in our sted His blood was shed
So our eternity would be assured
And every heart that trusts in Him
Hallelujah for that Lamb
Gives back immediately praises too
Our God and our great I am

Hallelujah for that Sacrifice
Hallelujah for the Lamb
God was in Christ as our Redeemer
To die for us sinful men
Who would have thought
that we've been sought
Ever since this world began
Behold the glorious... wonder of it all...
Behold the man...behold the Lamb!!!

Behold the man...behold the Lamb
For all we like sheep have gone astray
And there's none else to love us like He can
Sins highest price has been paid!!!...Hallelujah!
Behold the man...behold the Lamb!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!

You've presented the truth of the gospel once again in clear biblical words. Love the verse "For all we like sheep have gone astray." I memorized its in a girls' ambassador group I joined early (like age 8). Thanks, Gary.

About the Poet
I came to know the Lord as my personal Saviour in January of 1972. I was married on Oct 21,1966 to my wife Linda who also loves the Lord. We have ten children and now twenty-four grand children. In Aug 2012 we got the announcement of the birth of our first GREAT grand child (a baby girl). I was thrilled to find others of like precious faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! What a Savior! I am presently living in Champion, Alberta, Canada but we are originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. That is where the poem Canadian Tribute to America was birthed. One Sunday as I walked across the city on my way to church I came to the top of a hill and looked across at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. After watching the events of the Sept 11 tragedy it was weighing on my heart and mind and the Lord gave me these words. We came to Calgary and when my oldest daughter saw this poem she said, Dad, whats this? and I said a poem and she replied Dad, thats not a poem , thats a song and she then went to the piano and began to sing and play it. The result of which turned into a song entitled, A Canadian Tribute to America which she recorded on CD. garyjamessmith2005@yahoo.ca
