Grace

"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace
that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in
time of need." Hebrews 4:16

Father,

When temptation flatters the soul, and
Seeks the dark clouds of desire, so
Gilded with the world's shadow magic,
The soul is ready for grace.

When the soul is full of aching holes, and
Rude winter winds blow through, the
Soul is ready for the fill of grace.

Grace?
The soul's path to the warm Mansion of Your Love,
And without trudge, but please of will,
The soul walks there.

Grace?
The soul's Beethlehem,
The birth of Your Son, Jesus, within,
The manger for His rest.

Grace?
The soul's heart that
Pumps the Saving Blood of Jesus
To fill the soul.

Grace?
The soul's truth and beauty, for
This truth and beauty flows
From Your Love, which
IS Truth and Beauty.

Grace?
The soul's dignity, for
It is Your Majestic Presence
In the soul.

Father,
I pray:

To seek the high knoll of grace and
There, look tothe Horizon -- You.
