Walk the Road

"Awake, awake, put on strength, the arm of the Lord!" Isaiah 51:9
Father,
You I seek, pursue, reach for, since
From Your Will I am hewed and quarried.
Yes, my soul sounds with songs of praise, but
Also with a call for contact, Your Touch.
When our Touch is turning into smoke, and
The world's wilderness and wasteland
Stretches between You and I, I go to Jesus.
He is the Way to You, the Path, the Road,
Not an ice tunnel, but a long  Blooodied Highway
To You, Your Touch.
When I walk the road with Jesus,
Doubt does not walk over me,
Treat me as a street, no,
He shares "HOW" to walk the road to Your Touch.
How can I doubt He who was nailed to wood, executed,
For His love for me. This is a fact!

About the Poet
I am 79 years of age. For the past nine years I have been retired, after forty years, from the field of alcoholism and drug abuse in New York City. I am married and we have two grown sons and two grand-sons. My life changed through a grace-experience in 1967. Writing Christian prayers is a particular interest of mine. This came about by a growing awareness of the spiritual in recovery from addictions. I choose, intellectually and emotionally, to believe the Triune God of the Sared Scriptures as my Healer.
