I AM

"Tell the people of Israel: 'I AM sent me to you.'"

Father,

From the temple of a burning bush,
You revealed to Moses:
"Say: 'I AM sent me to you.'" and
Moses melted with awe.

How speak of I AM?
Only with word-shadows,
Even word-rags; for
You are a Hidden God. YET,

How speak of I AM?

I AM is Love.
Not the frail ache of the human,
A whisper; but
The Unending Symphony of Love
Heard by the ears of the Universe;
Emphatic --
Love gave us Your Only Son, Jesus.

How speak of I AM?

I AM is Truth.
Rooted not in dry soil,
But infinity; without wither;
Absolute, but not tyrannic;
Beyond deception (a contradiction);
The Wisdom of the Maker of it all --
Borne witness by Your Son, Jesus.

I AM is Home.
No more a wandering child, search weary;
Winter is gone, sin's shroud gone;
Soul-mutiny gone, sadness scaled;
Now?
Joy, joy, joy, for
You behold me lie-naked and
STILL love me --
This IS Home: for You are
A Breeder of Joy.
