The Master Poet Speaks
By: Laurie Ragan Jenkins

Little self inside
Put down foolish pride
From God you cannot hide
The selfish one inside
The Master Poet speaks
His quill mightier still
Out weighing any words
God's glory will be heard
Before the self inside
The beauty of His love
Will never be undone
Mercy streams with blood
Golden dreams that flood
Into a selfless quill
The little self is still
While the Master Poet speaks
And in the heart He peeks
