Crocus Dance
By: Laurie Ragan Jenkins

Little yellow faces popping open
Little purple ones too
Although it's bitter cold outside
Spring time dancing is what they do
It tickles the soul to watch their dance
From the window with heat rushing vents
Makes me laugh with joy and do the crocus dance
They seem to know I'm here as sunshine licks their face
Smiles spreading wide invitingly from my window trance
Urging faces beckon calling spring time dance
Little yellow, purple, popping faces
Are doing the crocus dance
