Fluttering Soul
By: Laurie Ragan Jenkins

The butterfly alights upon the cheek
As if trying to kiss the soul mild and meek
Barely touching sin's cocoon inside
Metamorphosis to the minuscule being to glide
Spread God's wings of loving beauty fly
Transformation reaching high
By just one kiss of Holy Blood
Little soul can fly away
Alight on God's throne of love
Biggest, brightest, butterfly above
Fluttering soul forevermore, and today
Sin's cocoon is opened wide
Fluttering soul flies away
