The Arguing Bird
By: Laurie Ragan Jenkins

Boredom, boredom
Chirps turn into the arguing bird
Is boredom the reason for all these words
Talk seems mighty cheap I've heard
Is anyone listening to God's Word
Boredom, boredom repeats the arguing bird

Faithful hope quenches boredom's chirp today
Sings the soul inside Jesus is the only Way
God's Word made flesh saves our day
Hope for an eternal heavenly stay
God's glorious light of the world forevermore
Talk can never be cheap honoring the King from this door

Boredom, boredom chirps no more
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Jesus is the Way
Chirps as words do play, from this pen today
