  Chrystology

          The Chrysanthemum

Courtly bloom, preconception Heart of God,
Unharnessed, birthed into Time's travails,
Blown by bitter winds, suffering,
Struck down by Uncertainty's gales.
"My God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken me?"  Matthew 27:46.

               The Chrysalis

     Dead and buried, it seems,
     Encased, insurmountable, chained,
     Silence infiltrates every valley,
     Oozes from altar, stains.
And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.  Luke 23:45.

                The Christ

 Risen Word breaks Adam's curse,
 Freed, rules fractious fray,
Drops of blood on fragrant blooms
 Illumine, pave.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Matthew 11:28.
