Autumn Settles Summer's Verve   (villanelle)

Autumn settles Summer's verve

As Sun descends on southward path,

Heat regresses, unperturbs.

Scintillating schemes that swerved

Through House of Sol now backward track,

Autumn settles Summer's verve.

Ardor springing, vernal-birthed,

Unbridled by the solstice, past

Heat regresses, unperturbs.

Creation's penchant cycles, curves,

Towering tangled mass is ashed,

Autumn settles.  Summer's verve,

Summited  passion's peak preserves

Reciprocating pattern, brash

Heat regresses, unperturbs.

On teeming, toxic surge uncurbed,

From God's cool wisdom pigment splashed,

Autumn settles Summer's verve,

Heat regresses, unperturbs.
