Ineffable

Ineffable

The joy that rises in my throat
As if to burst if left unuttered
Struggles finding physical form
To free itself from rote words muttered.

Ineffable You seem to me
Encased within a brilliant rapture,
Wordless I've content to be
As heart is warmed and vision captured.

Still I'd like to make a sound
As birds sing at the break of dawn,
Joining in the grateful round
As souls are to Your brilliance drawn.
