It Is Finished
"Thy will be done,"
The words hung
Heavy in air...
Despair.
Resignation
Designation
The ONE to bear the sin...
Chagrin.
Head is bowed
Followers cowed
Course is set...
Bereft.
Cross is borne
Flesh is torn
Side is rent
Life is spent...
Lament.
Within the womb
Earthly tomb
Death reversed
Dissolved the curse
New Life walks out
People shout
And praise the Lord...
Accord.
Celebration
Of all creation
All that seemed
Broken dreams
With darkened themes...
Redeemed.
Sustaining joy
Now employed
Ages pass
Times amass
The Body of Christ
Below and above
Immersed in Love
Like a dove
The Word is spread
'til like He said...
"It is finished."
