A Little Navel Gazing

 A Little Navel Gazing

While deeply immersed in omphaloskepsis
I get stuck in a nexus -
Am I called inward...or outward?

Do I softly ascend
Sweet scented path
So Spirit can mend
And self is outcast?

Releasing of world
Degreasing of soul
Hope unfurled
Brokenness made whole?

Or...called to the battle
Grab sword by the hilt
As steel clashes steel
'Cross field of sin's silt.

Will battles will
Drama unfolds
Defenses are tested
Faith hides or faith holds.

Betwixt and between
These contrary lines
I'm left in a quandary
Sipping on Wine

Fermented in darkness
In peace, undisturbed,
Awaiting my purpose
Poured out...perturbed.
