I Wanted You to Know

Did no one ever tell you why God sent His Son to die,
In love he showed us how to live, and then on the cross He died,
He paid the ransom for our sins that no one else could pay,
For only He was sinless and could take our sins away.

You can read it in the Bible, the Old Testament and the New,
That Jesus is the sacrifice for the sins of me and you,
Believing He's our Savior and accepting His great love
Is the way we find forgiveness to be fit for heaven above.

You may search the whole world over but you will never find
A God who is so loving, and so wonderfully kind.
He understands you perfectly, and walks with you all the way,
It's because I wanted you to know that I wrote this poem today.
