What Did You Learn Today?
Viewed Last 24 Hours: 1 time

What Did You Learn Today?

He's not like himself
On the verge of tears,
Hitting and pushing
I can't do a thing with him.

Shall I call his mother?
Should I send him to the office?
Talk to him?
Isolate him?
No, send him to the health room.
Let him lie down
For a little while.

It's one o'clock,
Two o'clock,
Two-thirty.
He sleeps on.
He awakes, smiles,
Slips back to his room.

What this child learned
In school today was
That when you are all worn out
And come to school very tired
Sometimes they'll let you
Take a little nap.
I like that!
