To My Blind Friend

My Blind Friend

A simple bouquet
It wasn't much
Jonquils and forsythia,
She saw with her tender touch.

Their yellow beauty
Lovely and bright
Profused a sweet aroma
She saw them with mind-sight.

Delighted, she sees
With her touch and smell
Would that I, with my sighted eyes,
Could see so well.

To My Blind Friend (c)2001 Eleanor W. Cunningham
