Unconditional Love

          Unconditional Love

The best love you can get
but... the hardest to give
is unconditional love.
If you find it,
don't let it go.

Uncondidtional love lasts
a life-time and beyond.
Unconditional love is
loving someone just
the way they are,
with all their faults
and all their attributes
without trying to change them.

Unconditional love
is kind, compassionate,
trustworthy, natural
and forever true.
Giving unconditional love
is far from easy, sometimes
the one you love doesn't
want it at all.

Yet, it is the most perfect love,
for no other love can survive
life's trials or pains.
Long after fleeting lovers
leave you, someone's
unconditional love for you
remains because...
true love lasts forever.

About the Poet
Born on October 24, 1939, I was one of seven children. I am now a mother of seven grown children, grandmother of 18, widow, and writer for the past 50 years mostly poetry. Day care provider of many years, now retired. Three poetry books published, but no longer in print, several little poem books self published. Published in local newspapers, several magazines and daily devotionals. My faith, family and writing poetry has brought me thus far.
