A Chair Reserved for Jesus

A Chair Reserved for Jesus

As a child, each time
I would take communion
I would close my eyes
and invision in my heart
a room with a large oak chair
and a tiny foot stool beside it.
The walls were a beautiful sky blue,
the floor was a grassy green.
The chair  was reserved for Jesus.
And...the foot stool was, of course,
for me!

"I will greatly rejoice in the Lord my soul shall
be joyful in my God."(Isaiah 61:10)

About the Poet
Born on October 24, 1939, I was one of seven children. I am now a mother of seven grown children, grandmother of 18, widow, and writer for the past 50 years mostly poetry. Day care provider of many years, now retired. Three poetry books published, but no longer in print, several little poem books self published. Published in local newspapers, several magazines and daily devotionals. My faith, family and writing poetry has brought me thus far.
