Before the Dawn

Before the Dawn

Before the dawn of a new day
I contemplate what I will do.

Before the dawn of a new day
I meditate and silently pray.

There are so many that I
pray for each and every day.

My mind is clear and I am
at peace with my Lord.

Seems He has his arms
around me, right before the dawn.

It is then that He greets me
with a beautiful sunrise.

And...I get up
start a brand new day.

"And ye shall seek me, and find me,
when ye shall search me with all
your heart."(Jeremiah.(29:13)

About the Poet
Born on October 24, 1939, I was one of seven children. I am now a mother of seven grown children, grandmother of 18, widow, and writer for the past 50 years mostly poetry. Day care provider of many years, now retired. Three poetry books published, but no longer in print, several little poem books self published. Published in local newspapers, several magazines and daily devotionals. My faith, family and writing poetry has brought me thus far.
