My Legacy  (a ZaniLa Rhyme)

I am an heiress, co-heir with Christ;

I know forgiveness and grace.

I understand they come from God's hand.

The Jesus of His Word I embrace.

My past contains painful memories-

failures, sickness, deaths, and fears.

They come from God's hand, I understand

things that worked for my good through the years.

I've also had fond recollections.

Happy childhood, marriage, work -

I understand they come from God's hand

as do health and the land of my birth.

I am destined to do special tasks

with gifts to help and to teach.

They come from God's hand, I understand

there are folks He wants me to reach.

Along with joy, peace and self-control

He gives me faith and patience.

I understand, they come from God's hand

filling me to serve with good conscience.

In very fruitful circumstances

my bound'ry lines have been scored.

They come from God's hand, I understand

a heritage received from my Lord.

inspired by Psalm 16, with acknowledgement to Beth Moore's, The Inheritance

About the Poet
Growing older with some pains and discomfort, graying hair, glasses, partial plate and hearing aids but with complete assurance of my eternal domain. Saved by choice by Gods free grace by Jesus life, death and resurrection. Born and bred in the Bluegrass State for 24 years, I crossed the Ohio River and became a Hoosier forever thereafter until that time God calls me to my heavenly home. Christian for fifty-five plus years. Church musician and SS teacher for most all of my Wednesdays and Sundays. Public school teacher for thirty-six school terms; retired with a class now of three grandchildren off and on during the week. Wife for half my life to the same superman. Mama to two unique sons. Mother-in-law to a fine daughter; Nana to one darling girl and two handsome guys. God has blessed me abundantly; thank you, Father. God quiets my hackles; God quickens my heart; God quells my hunger. Blessed be His holy name.
