Man's Appreciation of Man

Man's Appreciation of Man

If for one day each man could be every other man,
Then each could think as others think.
Could you stand the life.
Say of being a doctor's wife?
Could you be a spaceman on the brink?

For one day, each should be a lawyer,
Or trade places with a merchant for a day.
Think of being a teacher.
Imagine yourself a preacher,
Could you rightly walk along his way?

Agreed, this world needs every person,
With God-given talents he will use.
However I think at times
We'd condone the other's "crimes"
Were we placed in his particular shoes.

I don't desire to change eternal plans,
Actually I rather like being me.
But what is divine will
Is more divine still,
When we realize: What is, is meant to be!

Mistakes in peoples' pasts we should forgive,
To look for present good; to ever praise.
Future greatness nearly always,
Lies in heaven's hallways.
If so, consider a man a king for what he is.

About the Poet
Growing older with some pains and discomfort, graying hair, glasses, partial plate and hearing aids but with complete assurance of my eternal domain. Saved by choice by Gods free grace by Jesus life, death and resurrection. Born and bred in the Bluegrass State for 24 years, I crossed the Ohio River and became a Hoosier forever thereafter until that time God calls me to my heavenly home. Christian for fifty-five plus years. Church musician and SS teacher for most all of my Wednesdays and Sundays. Public school teacher for thirty-six school terms; retired with a class now of three grandchildren off and on during the week. Wife for half my life to the same superman. Mama to two unique sons. Mother-in-law to a fine daughter; Nana to one darling girl and two handsome guys. God has blessed me abundantly; thank you, Father. God quiets my hackles; God quickens my heart; God quells my hunger. Blessed be His holy name.
