Tribute to Two

a wreath

This is a tribute to Minnie and Frank -
Frank, my grandpa and Minnie, his good wife.
She was wife, mother, homemaker of rank
with nine rank-and-file kids - keys to their life.
Life was simple, she was gentle, yet frank.
Frank called her his "rock" in peace and in strife.

Peace and strife took turns for Frank and Minnie -
Minnie, my grandma and Frank, her strong man.
He was teacher man, preacher man, skinny -
skinny and prudent from a Scottish clan.
With his clannish compassion for many,
Minnie dubbed him a Good Samaritan.

About the Poet
Growing older with some pains and discomfort, graying hair, glasses, partial plate and hearing aids but with complete assurance of my eternal domain. Saved by choice by Gods free grace by Jesus life, death and resurrection. Born and bred in the Bluegrass State for 24 years, I crossed the Ohio River and became a Hoosier forever thereafter until that time God calls me to my heavenly home. Christian for fifty-five plus years. Church musician and SS teacher for most all of my Wednesdays and Sundays. Public school teacher for thirty-six school terms; retired with a class now of three grandchildren off and on during the week. Wife for half my life to the same superman. Mama to two unique sons. Mother-in-law to a fine daughter; Nana to one darling girl and two handsome guys. God has blessed me abundantly; thank you, Father. God quiets my hackles; God quickens my heart; God quells my hunger. Blessed be His holy name.
