By Reason A. Poteet
Other Poems by Reason A. Poteet

What is the real Purpose in thanksgiving?
Who voices Promise for support in stress?
When does Prayer truly comfort our grief?
Who are the People who run virtue’s race?
How long will Pardon for sin need God’s grace?
Why do we say Peace and Patience are brief?
Why do we say Pain can bolster belief?
How long is our Paraclete’s sweet embrace?
Where are my Poems? in what special space?
When do Psalms provide rest and relief?
Who offers Praise, God’s divine will to bless?
What is the true Plan for righteous living

As we display heartfelt, honest appreciation
straightway, the Spokesman of all creation
helps us realize Who knows what is best.
Those who recognize there is joy in the test
while Earth, Satan and sinners remain
we seize trials daily in every domain.
Endeavoring pain, we grasp well-being,
forever, we trust divine overseeing.
Spreading gleams that glisten in the mind,
read daily, the Psalms keep spirits aligned.
Those who can strip themselves of man’s favor,
we'll worship God and love our neighbor.

So many truths in that poem! The key to "making it" in this life is "Endeavoring pain, we grasp well-being, forever, we trust divine overseeing."
I'm understanding that more and more as I grow older.

There is truth in these lines:
"Those who recognize there is joy in the test
while Earth, Satan and sinners remain
we seize trials daily in every domain."
Another nice poem Geneva.

Thank you,Reason, for this poem that reminds me of the questioning of Job. Pain, trials, suffering...but through it all...Light.

About the Poet
Growing older with some pains and discomfort, graying hair, glasses, partial plate and hearing aids but with complete assurance of my eternal domain. Saved by choice by Gods free grace by Jesus life, death and resurrection. Born and bred in the Bluegrass State for 24 years, I crossed the Ohio River and became a Hoosier forever thereafter until that time God calls me to my heavenly home. Christian for fifty-five plus years. Church musician and SS teacher for most all of my Wednesdays and Sundays. Public school teacher for thirty-six school terms; retired with a class now of three grandchildren off and on during the week. Wife for half my life to the same superman. Mama to two unique sons. Mother-in-law to a fine daughter; Nana to one darling girl and two handsome guys. God has blessed me abundantly; thank you, Father. God quiets my hackles; God quickens my heart; God quells my hunger. Blessed be His holy name.
