Men and Women Die

Whoever the president

Wherever the battles

Military placed in combat

Men and women die

To what purpose

For what plan

Whose freedom is protected

Whose cause advanced

Whoever the president

Whatever his political stance

Men and Women Die(c)2009  Quentin Clingerman

Note:  The present USA administration made much ado about Iraq and how our military should not be there!  Yet it has kept troops and added more (and maybe not nearly enough) in a much larger war zone with a much less accepting populace and a more determinded foe!   Are we any more secure?  Are our troops any better off?  Will there be the will to "stay the course"?  Or like Vietnam will after losing thousands of military we will "cut and run"?
