Saint or Sinner?

Saint or Sinner?

The Bible makes it clear

We all begin as sinners, my dear

Conceived and born in sin the psalmist declared

Any righteousness of our own is as filthy rags Isaiah shared

Jesus came to change the equation for sin

We become the rightousness of God in Him

St. Paul called those who had become believers saints

Not always in glowing terms of them the portraits he paints

But the direction of their lives had changed

Their priorities  by God had been rearranged

Those in Christ from the dominion of sin have been set free

No longer sinner but saint you now can clearly see

No longer sinner but saint you now can clearly see

Saint or Sinner?  (c)2015 Quentin Clingerman

Note:  Some theologies I know teach we all sin in word, thought, and deed every day. To those theolgies I say that their definition of sin is too broad or they have not truly been born again!  Repentance means changing direction, stop doing what you know to be wrong (in Christ that can be done), walking in the Spirit so that one no longer walks in the "flesh".  As long as we have free will the possibility of sin is there, but we no longer live in its (Satan's) dominion. Hallelujah!
