The Promise of Today

The feel of Spring is in the air
The ever refreshing newness of life is everywhere
Do you see it? Do you feel it? Do you smell it?
It is the promise of Today

It is the only one we have, Today
Yesterday is gone; its rights and wrongs
Influence may linger but its page is written
To be placed in a file of memory or be smitten

Tomorrow is at best a wish that may not come true
Today is the day, we must give it its due
Living for Today, we are ensured Tomorrow
Here on Earth or in Eternity

Today we have life in Him who is the Culmination
of all days
We feel its newness as we feel His closeness
If there is despair, He is still there
Just realize that He has given us Today

To lift up His name
To glorify Him
The Promise of Today
