Whithering on the Vine

Whithering on the vine

Waiting for the bugs to dine

Chilly for the lack of sunshine

Watching the calendula brightly bloom

Knowing it is surely this pumpkin's doom

If not the frost, its pestilence gloom

Hanging and rotting, come what may

Autumn has not the time of day

For the likes of me

Whithering on the vine
