Three Sojourners

                      Three Sojourners

Three sojourners who read the heaven's lights
Are travelers traversing shifting sands
But keep a careful course through foreign lands
Where darkness shadows days and rules the nights.

The stars to some are legends, myth, and lore,
Celestial paths to guide a wayward soul
From aimless wandering to reach a goal
Unlocked by heaven's mythic hidden door.

Ahead seems worth much more than what's behind,
And so, they follow closely one rogue star,
The story of a king born from afar,
A pearl from ancient days they seek to find.

From aimless wanderings man's reconciled
To light and goodness through a new born child.

About the Poet
Husband, father, grandfather, and each title is my joy. As a youth, poetry was a means to express the inexpressable. I was attracted to (and still am) the beauty and brevity of verse. All flows out from God, and like a proper prayer, can flow back.
