Reborn in the Light

            Reborn in the Light

Two reds at dawn one Friday morn,
The first poured o’er receding dark
And bled away each scourge and thorn
Of night that hopelessness can mark.

Another light from heaven’s height,
A royal blue, His kingdom here,
Precursor of a lasting light
That shone upon this worldly sphere.

The second red in which I bled
Arose from deep within the dawn
Inside my heart from where it led
By grace to Him to be reborn.

And then, the eastern sky released
A saving light above dark hills,
Where hope and love and faith increased
By light of Truth that fills… and fills.

About the Poet
Husband, father, grandfather, and each title is my joy. As a youth, poetry was a means to express the inexpressable. I was attracted to (and still am) the beauty and brevity of verse. All flows out from God, and like a proper prayer, can flow back.
