A Soul Restored

       A Soul Restored

He landed in a hostile place-
The suffering of his disgrace
Where opposition settled in
Then multiplied in kind, in kin.

There is a fence around the place,
A gate that opens up by grace,
A lock, the combination of
Is known by those aligned in love.

Here, a banquet table sits
For each the Father’s gate admits,
A pasture green beyond the gate
Where calm and peaceful streams await

For those who welcome rod and staff
And write the self-will’s epitaph.

About the Poet
Husband, father, grandfather, and each title is my joy. As a youth, poetry was a means to express the inexpressable. I was attracted to (and still am) the beauty and brevity of verse. All flows out from God, and like a proper prayer, can flow back.
