Conformed and Transformed

Keep this mouth from speaking
when it's silence You require...
give me words to utter
to express Your desire!

Help me reach the distressed
whether or not it's convenient...
let Your wonderful wisdom
make its heavenly descent.

Correct my foolish thinking,
exchange my thoughts for thine...
and like a polished gemstone
this vessel please refine.

Help me be sensitive if
someone shares with me,
and make my ear receptive
as I listen to their story.

For it's Your work not mine,
Your purpose to perform...
search this heart I pray Lord,
to Yours let it conform.

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
