Our Substitute

Our Substitute

On a mountain long ago
three crosses stood alone,
on two hung criminals,
on one God's very own.

His precious Son called Jesus
was our substitute that day;
He paid a debt we owed,
and could never, ever pay.

Our sins sent Jesus Christ
to suffer pain and die,
our debt was paid in full
which pardoned you and I.

Our redeemer is alive
lift your hands in adoration,
to the Lamb upon the throne
on this day of celebration....

John 3:16

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
