When Nothing Is Going Our Way

When Nothing is Going Our Way

Anyone can sing in the sunshine
and dance to a happy tune,
but it takes faith that's tough
when the going gets rough
to rejoice when our lives are in ruin!

Sure we can shout and declare
that Jesus is Lord and King,
but can we still shout
and never once doubt
if we should lose everything?

When ominous clouds pass over
and decide to stay for awhile,
will we drag ourselves along
or in faith remain strong,
and go that extra mile?

It's up to us to be content
and trust the Lord anyway,
despite our tribulations
and constant irritations,
when nothing is going our way! (c)

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
