Grooming

Our Christmas cactus sits
in a cozy, sunny room,
and at the appointed season
fuscia flowers are in bloom.

It requires loving care,
and should be fertilized,
watered now and then,
and pruning is advised.

It's an older cactus plant
but with proper grooming,
we can always count on
new flowers blooming!

Pruning is necessary to
assure growth year by year,
the same reason God prunes
us, so more fruit will appear.

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
