Fashioning You

Fashioning You

Olives are pressed to extract their oil,
grapes are squeezed for wine;
flowers crushed for their essence,
and gold must be refined!

Stone and marble are chiseled
to create a noble statue,
so is it really surprising
why God is fashioning you?

Among His many tools
is the dreaded potter's wheel,
where you'll spin and spin
while you squirm and squeal.

But before it's all over
there are lessons to face;
patience, trust and waiting
as the process takes place!

When the master is satisfied
He'll remove the afflictions,
painful trials and tests,
and other hard restrictions.

Rejoice, suffering shall pass
when God's purpose is done,
equipping us for service
to glorify His Son!

About the Poet
Christian since 1973, widowed in 2007, but by the divine appt. of God, I married a wonderful, godly widower in Oct. 2010. Three grown, married sons and eight grandchildren. My first love is Jesus who inspires my pen, for apart from Him I can do nothing! I desire to honor the Lord and edify readers thru poetry He inspires.
