What Gets Me Most

What Gets Me Most

What gets me most is how much You love me

How You forgive me and stand by my side,

E’en when I know I’ve been idiotic.

What gets me most is how You reside

In each of the moments that make up my life

In all of my journeys, in each wave that I ride

In each of the people I know and who know me.

What gets me most, is how You abide

As all that You are, forever and ever.

You always have been; forever will be

The self same, my Friend my Mentor my Mystery

To worship to honour to laugh with.

                                                         To hide

Me from further un-happenings

From pitfalls of pride,

From worldly alarmings

That cause me to snide

My steps as I walk to the place where you want me

Lord, keep me advancing, Lord,  walk by my side.
