Stippled Leaf-light

a mood of ambiguity
pervades my senses
each time I view those stippled lights..

for the dubious joy of meeting a long lost friend
at a close friend's funeral.
for tears and arms that
flow and spread willingly.

for a newly lost space that is irretrievable..
for an old void that is refilled..

for the simple act of joining a renewed loved one
with a fistful of earth on a love just lost..

for memories that merge with the gones
for dreams that morph the is.

for the here and the now that is fragmented
into nanoseconds.. split like the mounds of soil
that stand politely apart and in peace
to accomodate one more wooden box
of a lifetime's collection of eventualities.

where always a tree shades the place gracefully.
always a tree
with its stippled leaf light...
