Sunbeam Prima

Sunbeam Prima

Bright goldthing
Speck of dust, perhaps of rainbow sent!
She spins her blonde proportions thus
Basking in stretched limelight from a sun ray
Set to shame the Monroes and Madonnas,
Dips and spins then flies away..

Offstage I search the dark in vain
Her glorious halo missing..her greenroom plain..
And back again, I scan her morn lit stage
In time to see her prim regain her train

In confined space,twirling an encore..
Girling curling swirling
Before she takes her fleeting final bow..and is no more!

I give her a standing ovation
As the skylights recall
And darkness drapes her stage
Between table shelf and wall.
