A Father's Day Fantasy

A Father's Day Fantasy

Sweetie, put your feet up and I'll give you a massage,
I just waxed the car for you and cleaned out the garage,
I mowed the lawn and washed the dog and made your favorite dish,
I grabbed a flick at Blockbusters, we'll watch it when you wish.

I trimmed the hedge myself, hon, that's a job I know you hate,
I told my mom her visit here will simply have to wait,
I'll shine your shoes, take out the trash, repair the kitchen sink,
and while you're getting comfy I'll pour you a frosty drink.

The baseball game's about to start, I'll bring you some hors d'oeuvres,
I've sent the kids to grandma's so they won't get on your nerves,
there's hot wings in the oven and your pals are on their way,
I hope this meets your fantasy, dear ~ Happy Father's Day!

"Who can find a virtuous woman?
for her price is far above rubies.
She looketh well
to the ways
of her household,
and eateth not
the bread
of idleness."

(Proverbs 31:10, 27 KJV)

About the Poet
IN MEMORIAM I'm just a servant of the Lord that wants to magnify Him through poetry, and to cause others to focus on Him.
