Moonlit Morn

Moonlit Morn

moonlit morn
a new day is born
autumn chill in the air
walking beside me, Allen is there
sky so vast and bright
no need for the flashlight
stars twinkle through the cloud
sheer, beautiful shroud
all is peace and calm
our love is a heavenly balm
yes, it's heaven on earth
love has ultimate worth
autumn chill lingers in the air
not a worry or a care
a brand new day is born
wonderful moonlit morn

Author's note: I've heard it said that what one does in the first hour of the day sets the tone for the whole day. Allen and I begin our day, Monday through Friday, with the exception of a rainy morning, taking our black Lab, Bob, for a brisk walk. Our day begins with togetherness, exercise, peace and thankful hearts that we are living happily everafter.

About the Poet
I grew up in rural North Carolina, married for 38 years to my best friend and soulmate, Allen, who retired almost 17 years ago from the Air Force after 24 years of service to our beloved America. We have a daughter, Ashley ( and son-in-law, Kris) and, a son, John, and, our two beautiful grand daughters, Amelia and Haley, and Isaac, our only grandson, all blessings from God. We have four cats; Mr. Peabody, Missy, aka Middle Kitty and Tabby, aka Little Kitty, and Gracie. I've seen a lot of hard times and God has always been here for me to see me through them. I am a vessel God can use to help others in need. If I could be described in one word, it would be that I am an encourager.
